Land Planarians, An Earthworm Predator, In My Vermicomposting Bin

I had seen unusual flat worms in some worm bins lately while separating African Nightcrawlers from their bedding. These flat worms turned out to be land planarians that voraciously prey on earthworms.

It was a good thing that first time I saw them, I immediately collected the flatworms in a clear plastic bottle and exposed them to sunlight.

This only means apart from having to strictly follow sorting schedules*, I have to be on the lookout for flatworms.

* - two (2) months after introducing earthworms.
